Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an experienced radiology support professional to assist physicians during interventional procedures. You will prepare the patient and procedure room, stock supplies, and operate radiology equipment while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree desirable; and Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
• Current ARRT Certification and/or State Licensure (as per state regulations)
• Interventional Radiology certificate preferred.
• 1 year experience preferred for Candidates with ARRT.
• Knowledge and experience of sterile techniques.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems.
• Successfully complete BLS certification.
• Experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory.
• Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

Responsibilities

• Performs activities necessary for preparation of patient and procedure room.
• Reviews patient orders to determine materials/supplies needed.
• Sets up/stocks the procedure room and equipment prior to procedure and cleans after.
• Explains procedure to patient and addresses questions.
• Assists with preparing patient for surgical procedure and positioning.
• Transfers patients to and from procedure room.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm.
• Acts as scrub assistant during interventional procedures.
• Complies with HIPAA patient confidentiality.
• Draws up intravenous medication and labels accordingly.
• Processes x-ray images and archives to image repository.
• Supports quality standards and CQI initiatives to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintains accurate medical records and audits.
• Ensures environment is clean and equipment is in working condition.
• Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies.
