Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Lab Assistant - Inpatient Phlebotomy for a Per Diem/Relief, Variable position in Washington. The role may involve phlebotomy, specimen collection, LIS usage, and supporting lab operations to ensure timely, accurate results.

Qualified candidates may have a High School Diploma and prior clinical lab experience. The position supports customers and staff in a fast-paced hospital environment with safety and compliance in mind.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items following safety regulations and lab policies.
• Collect and label specimens; process per guidelines and complete documentation.
• Enter patient demographics and test data; submit specimens.
• Receive, sort, and package specimens as required.
• Answer calls and provide information on specimen requirements and test results.
• Perform waived testing as assigned and escalate abnormal results per SOPs.
