Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed a Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy or Phlebotomy course.
• Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
• Computer experience.
• Laboratory or related science experience.
• Preferred: 6 months Phlebotomist-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process laboratory specimens from hospital areas.
• Maintain laboratory supplies by ordering, receiving, and stocking.
• Register patients and accession specimens into the computer system.
• Label, process and distribute samples; print pending logs and reports.
• Provide orientation and training for Medical Technology students and phlebotomy students.
• Answer the telephone and relay messages.
