Job summary

Southeast Health is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy and accessioning across hospital laboratories, outpatient services, and off-site locations. The role includes patient identification, specimen labeling, and ensuring speedy transport for testing.

Under supervision, you may assist in training, follow safety protocols, and work with LIS systems and ECGs as needed. HS diploma preferred and phlebotomy certification eligibility is desirable.

Qualifications

• Equivalent of four years of high school education preferred.
• One year of full time phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Certification eligible with National Phlebotomy Association preferred.
• Proficient in LIS Accessioning and Reference Laboratory Send-outs.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick, and bleeding time) according to established procedures.
• Identifies patients and properly labels specimen tubes.
• Determines priority of STAT draws and ensures timely transport of specimens for testing.
