Job summary

PeaceHealth seeks a Lab Assistant - Inpatient Phlebotomy for a Per Diem/Relief, Variable position. You will collect specimens, perform basic lab procedures, and support lab staff in delivering timely patient care in a hospital setting.

The role requires good communication with patients and healthcare teams, accuracy in data entry, and adherence to LIS procedures and safety protocols. Previous lab experience is preferred, and WA licensure requirements apply as described.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to work without supervision but know when to consult supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, delivers, and picks up items per safety regulations.
• Collects and labels specimens for testing and completes documentation.
• Performs data entry of patient demographics and tests ordered.
• Receives, handles, sorts, processes, or packages specimens.
• Handles inquiries about specimen requirements and test results.
