Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver quality patient care in laboratory services, including phlebotomy and specimen handling. Strong attention to safety and accuracy is required.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and prior clinical laboratory experience preferred. The position offers a comprehensive rewards package and on-site benefits at PeaceHealth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Preferred: prior clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items per lab policies to maintain specimen integrity.
• Collect and label specimens for testing and complete documentation for the specimen.
• Enter patient demographics and tests; process and submit specimens.
• Receive, handle, sort, and package specimens.
• Provide information to clients and patients regarding specimen requirements and test results.
• Perform waived testing and follow up on abnormal results.
• Assist lab staff and perform other duties as assigned.
