Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer to protect staff, patients, and visitors at our South Campus. The role emphasizes professional presence, rapid response to incidents, and maintaining a secure hospital environment.

Per Diem, As Needed, Non-Benefit Eligible position with a focus on safety, incident reporting, and collaboration with the Public Safety team. Requires strong communication and adherence to security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; further study in Criminal Justice is preferred.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice is preferred.
• Experience in Security/Healthcare Operations is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Provides visible deterrence by patrolling hospital buildings and grounds.
• Responds quickly to emergent and non-emergent situations.
• Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted to hospital premises.
• Escorts visitors, patients, and staff to and from parking areas as needed.
• Maintains lost and found logs and notifies supervisors when items are reported.
• Investigates incidents and documents results with incident reports.

Education
