Job summary

Boston Medical Center South is seeking a per diem Security Officer to safeguard staff, visitors and patients across hospital facilities. Under the Manager of Security, you will deter crime, respond to incidents, and maintain a safe environment in line with hospital procedures.

You will escort people, log incidents, support fire control, and assist with environment of care standards while upholding professionalism and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred.
• 2 years security/healthcare operations experience preferred.
• Massachusetts Class D license required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to deter crime and prohibited activities.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and non-emergencies.
• Ensure only authorized personnel are admitted to the premises.
• Escort visitors, patients, and staff to parking areas as needed.
• Maintain lost and found logs and report missing items.
• Notify supervisors and sergeants of incidents and investigations.
• Participate in Fire Control Team and respond to fires.
• Investigate incidents and document steps and results.
• Write clear incident reports and maintain proper records.
