Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer on a Per Diem, As Needed, Non-Benefit Eligible basis to protect staff, patients and visitors and to maintain a safe hospital environment.

Under the Manager of Security, you will patrol, respond to incidents, escort people as needed, and maintain incident reports with a focus on professionalism and safety. MA Class D license and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s in Criminal Justice preferred.
• At least 2 years in Security/Healthcare Operations; law enforcement or military background preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts class D operator's license; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provides visible deterrence by patrolling hospital buildings and grounds.
• Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non-emergent situations.
• Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted to hospital premises.
• Escorts visitors, patients, and personnel to and from parking areas on request.
• Maintains lost and found logs and notifies DOS and sergeant when needed.
• Acts as member of Fire Control Team and responds to all fires.
• Investigates incidents and documents steps and results by shift end.
• Writes clear, accurate incident reports and investigatory notes.

Skills

Security/Healthcare ops experience

Law enforcement background
