Job summary

Beacon Hospice, Amedisys, in Millinocket and surrounding areas, is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Nurse Practitioner to provide compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care in home settings. You will assess symptoms, manage comfort, and support patients and their families as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team.

Applicants must hold an unencumbered NP license in the assigned state, possess Medicare billing privileges, CPR certification, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered NP license in the practicing state.
• 1+ year experience as a Nurse Practitioner or hospice RN in last 3 years.
• Authority to practice as a NP in the state where services are provided.
• Authority to prescribe as a NP in the state where services are provided.
• Must have Medicare billing privileges as a NP.
• State-specific collaborative requirements and physician agreements for NP practice.
• State-required NP insurance or employer coverage.
• Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement and coding for all service levels.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Communicate significant findings and changes in condition to the team.
• Complete face-to-face encounters and assess disease changes and quality of life.
• Order/review labs and diagnostics for palliation and treatment and document plans.
• Make referrals to other disciplines as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences.
