Job summary

Beacon Hospice, Amedisys is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Nurse Practitioner to join our team serving Millinocket and surrounding areas in Maine. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered hospice care with emphasis on comfort, dignity, and quality of life, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, symptom management, family support, and coordinating care plans while ensuring regulatory and payer requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the assigned state.
• 1+ year NP or hospice RN experience within last 3 years.
• Authority to practice and prescribe as an NP in the state of employment.
• Medicare billing privileges as a NP.
• Meet state-specific physician-NP collaboration requirements and provide agreements as needed.
• CPR certification current.
• Driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement and coding for various care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered hospice care focusing on comfort and quality of life.
• Conduct assessments, manage symptoms, and support patients and families.
• Communicate significant findings to the clinical team and attending physician.
• Order and review labs, imaging, and tests for palliation and treatment as appropriate.
• Refer to other disciplines and participate in interdisciplinary team conferences.
