Beacon Hospice, part of Amedisys, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for hospice care on a per diem basis. The role covers service areas including Dover-Foxcroft and Millinocket, Maine, and offers flexible hours with competitive hourly pay.

The NP will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to manage terminal care, assess patient needs, and coordinate pain and symptom management at home. Prior hospice or palliative care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license valid in the state of assignment.
• Minimum of one year of Nurse Practitioner experience or one year as hospice RN in last three years.
• Must have authority to practice and prescribe as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of service.
• Medicare billing privileges for Nurse Practitioners.
• Must meet physician-nurse practitioner collaborative requirements for the state of employment.
• CPR certification current.

Responsabilités

• Communicate significant findings and changes in condition to the clinical manager and attending physician.
• Complete face-to-face encounters and assess disease progression, function, pain management, coping, and quality of life.
• Order and review labs, imaging, and diagnostics and document the plan with the physician.
• Make referrals to other disciplines as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences.
