Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to provide home health PT services in Texas (Idalou area). You will work under a supervising PT, delivering interventions and documenting patient progress to support healing at home.

The position offers flexible scheduling, competitive hourly pay, and comprehensive benefits eligibility where applicable. Ideal candidates hold PTA licensure, CAPTE-accredited education, CPR certification, and have experience in home health settings.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant, specific to the state you're assigned to work in.
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant educational program as set by CAPTE.
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTAs entering home health care to ensure knowledge and skills are sufficient.
• If less than one year of experience, mentoring and/or residency program approval is required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist.
• Observes, records and reports the patient's response to treatment and any change in condition.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Includes documentation of supervisory activities in the patient's medical record.
• Monitors and documents the patient's response to physical therapy intervention.
• Participates in patient care conferences, in services, chart audits and quality improvement activities.
• Makes recommendations for follow-up care and coordinates with the admitting agency.
