Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with the correct use of body mechanics.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• The communications skills necessary to understand written and verbal instructions.
• The organizational skills necessary to coordinate, prioritize and accomplish multiple work assignments.
• The ability to work on call and overtime when necessary, including all holidays.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, performs patient room and ancillary area daily cleaning per departmental and corporate standards.
• Performs daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning in assigned areas, including disposal of soiled linens and garbage.
• Cleans isolation/terminal rooms, patient discharges, and equipment; ensures carts and equipment are clean and orderly daily.
• Uses cleaning chemicals in a cost effective and safe manner and labels chemicals daily.
• Maintains adequate supplies of paper products, soap, and other disposables; replaces sharps containers as needed.
• Provides a positive customer service environment through teamwork and a proactive work attitude and communicates with the manager daily.
