Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL seeks an Environmental Services Technician II for per diem night shifts (10:30 PM–7:00 AM) including weekends and holidays. You will perform patient room and ancillary area cleaning, including isolation/terminal cleaning, and maintain equipment and carts per standards.

Role requires high school diploma (or equivalent), willingness to work irregular hours, and the ability to interact well with staff and patients. Hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with body mechanics.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Organizational skills to coordinate, prioritize and accomplish tasks.
• Ability to work on call and overtime, including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning per standards, including isolation/terminal cleaning.
• Cleans equipment used in patient rooms and maintains clean, orderly carts and areas.
• Uses cleaning chemicals safely and ensures proper labeling of bottles.
• Maintains supplies of paper products, soap, and other consumables; handles sharps as required.
• Exhibits teamwork and positive service mindset; communicates with area manager daily.
• Observes and reports any repairs or needed maintenance; adheres to hospital policies.
