Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment to support high-quality patient care. The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and adherence to infection prevention protocols.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, common areas, and facilities, handling linens, and ensuring safety in work areas, with opportunities for growth within a large healthcare system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred (0-1 year).
• Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of waste streams: Biological, Hazardous, General, Sharps, Recycling.
• Knowledge of Fire Management Plan and ability to respond to fire alarms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas as directed by supervisor or manager.
• Clean floors, offices, clinical and non-clinical spaces, halls, rest rooms, and entrances.
• Sweep, scrub, refinish, polish and strip floors using appropriate equipment.
• Vacuum, shampoo carpets, deodorize, and disinfect surfaces.
• Make beds, clean rooms, sanitize surfaces, empty trash, and move linens as needed.
• Move furnishings as required to complete tasks.
• Keep equipment and workspace neat, clean and safe.
• Perform minor maintenance as required.
• Lock/unlock doors and conduct security rounds.
• Follow infection prevention protocols at all times.
