Job summary

Valley View Home Health, part of the Optum family, seeks an in-home Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (Per Diem) to deliver therapy to patients in their homes and help restore full physical function. Work follows supervising OT plans, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and family education.

Responsibilities include adhering to state laws, implementing care plans, observing patient responses, and educating patients and caregivers about therapy.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license or access to a dependable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
