Job summary

Optum is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant - Per Diem to deliver home-based occupational therapy, restoring patients’ maximal physical function under the supervision of a licensed OT. The role supports patients in their homes and collaborates with families and caregivers to implement the plan of care.

Required licensure and a valid driver's license are essential; CPR is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore fullest physical ability
• Follow state-specific laws governing home care and the plan of care defined by supervising OT
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to supervisor/physician
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and health team in therapy within the OTA scope
• Function in diverse home environments regardless of patient demographics
