Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Day shift Registered Nurse for the Mental Health Unit at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes clinical judgment, compassionate patient education, and active participation in rounds and care planning.

Qualifications

Active New Jersey RN license in good standing (or Multistate License with NJ endorsement).
Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
Minimum 2 years' Behavioral Health adult patient care experience.
Experience with EMR systems (EPIC).
Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
Administer Safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to coordinate care.
Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
Document accurately in EMR to ensure continuity and safety.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to support seamless transitions of care.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment and professional growth.
