Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatrics Unit at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. This per diem day-shift role focuses on direct patient care, family education, and collaborative teamwork in a teaching hospital setting.

Candidates must hold an active NJ RN license, BLS, PALS within 120 days of hire, and APHON within 6–12 months. A BSN is preferred, with at least 1 year of pediatric experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement.
• BLS certification, and PALS within 120 days of hire; APHON certification within 6–12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes with sound judgment.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, providing hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and safety post-discharge.
• Accurately document care in the EMR to ensure continuity and safety.
