RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Short Term Care (STC) Behavioral Health Per Diem Night at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, safe medication administration, collaboration with physicians, and precise EMR documentation.

Candidates must hold an active NJ RN license, BLS certification, and have 2 years of Behavioral Health experience; per-diem night schedule 7:00 pm–7:30 am with three shifts per month.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing or Multistate license with NJ endorsement.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred; prior patient care experience.
• Experience in Behavioral Health Adult population; minimum 2 years.
• Per-diem night schedule 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; three shifts per month.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes; intervene early and advocate for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for next care steps.
• Ensure accurate EMR documentation to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and support smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in a collaborative team environment and pursue ongoing professional growth.
