Job summary

Croda Singapore is seeking a Research Scientist to join the Pharma team at our Alabaster site. You will work on peptide synthesis and process development, collaborating with regional teams and cross-functional groups to advance high-impact projects in pharma and beauty care.

The role requires strong organic synthesis skills, experience with analytical techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Travel for tech transfer and conferences may be required.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with 3+ years in Organic Synthesis or related field
• Experience with synthetic chemistry techniques; peptide synthesis is a plus
• Understanding of analytical techniques (UPLC/LCMS, NMR, GCMS)
• Experience with scale-up and process development is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Occasional travel for tech transfer or conferences

Responsibilities

• Develop peptide synthesis processes for scale up.
• Provide timely support to data generation projects for peptide synthesis process development.
• Perform standard organic synthesis techniques and analysis.
• Collaborate with external teams on technology transfer and support.
• Troubleshoot experiments during R&D and process development.
• Review literature, prepare reports, and present results to manager and team.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across regions and businesses.
• Present work at conferences and support business development.
• Maintain documentation using ELN and write material for publication.
• Perform other duties to ensure lab safety and maintenance.
