Job summary

Bachem Torrance is seeking a Research Scientist to design, execute, and optimize peptide development projects across synthesis, purification, and manufacturing processes. You will advance experimental work, analyze data, and generate data-driven recommendations supporting scalable, cGMP-compliant solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Manufacturing, Analytical Development, Quality, and Engineering teams, applying advanced scientific principles and maintaining rigorous documentation

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 3+ years of peptide research, manufacturing, and/or process development.
• PhD in Chemistry or related field with 0-3 years in peptide research, manufacturing and/or process development.
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry, peptide chemistry, process development, and pharmaceutical manufacturing principles.
• Thorough understanding of peptide synthesis, purification, isolation, and analytical techniques.
• Experience designing experiments and analyzing complex data sets to form conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot peptide API development projects.
• Independently develop, optimize, and evaluate peptide synthesis and purification processes.
• Apply scientific expertise to resolve technical challenges and generate data-driven recommendations.
• Lead assigned projects with timely, quality-focused execution.
• Prepare technical reports, development summaries, and risk assessments for stakeholders.
• Collaborate in cross-functional project teams and transfer knowledge across sites.
