Job summary

Bachem Torrance is seeking a Research Scientist to lead design, development, and optimization of peptide manufacturing processes. You will work on peptide synthesis, purification, and analytical methods within a cross-functional team to deliver scalable and robust workflows.

The role emphasizes mechanistic understanding, data-driven decision making, and collaboration across Manufacturing, Analytical Development, Quality, and Engineering to support lifecycle management and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD with relevant peptide research/process development experience.
• Strong knowledge of organic/peptide chemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing principles.
• Experience with peptide synthesis, purification, and analytical techniques required.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and provide data-driven recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot peptide API development projects.
• Independently develop and optimize peptide synthesis, purification, and manufacturing processes.
• Prepare technical reports, development summaries, and risk assessments for stakeholders.
• Collaborate in cross-functional project teams and train colleagues as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology transfer.
