Job summary

Barr Foundation in Boston, MA seeks an HR Manager to partner with the VP of People & Talent, driving talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and culture initiatives. You will lead performance management, learning & development support, and core HR operations to ensure an exceptional employee experience aligned with Barr’s mission and values.

The role requires 5–7 years in HR, with a bias to action, strong relationship skills, and proficiency in ATS systems (Greenhouse) and HR tech

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of HR experience, preferably in a non-profit or foundation setting.
• Self-starter with a strong bias to action and the ability to be proactive and anticipate needs.
• Infuses optimism, creativity and a thoughtful tenacity into all aspects of their work.
• Operates with a strong sense of resilience, adaptability and ability to stay grounded in a complex dynamic environment.
• Elite relationship builder with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Impeccable judgement, tactfulness, and integrity and the ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee relations.
• Drive performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
• Partner with leadership to shape HR strategy and learning & development.
• Oversee HR contracts, budgeting, and vendor relationships.
• Support leave management and compliance with employment laws.
