Job summary

CarEdge is hiring its first dedicated People & Talent Lead to own end-to-end recruiting and day-to-day HR for a remote team of W-2 employees, contractors, and international members. You will build the programs we lack and operate them autonomously, setting up scalable processes for a growing company.

You will manage recruiting pipelines, onboarding, HR operations, and compliance while partnering with leadership to drive culture and retention across a distributed workforce.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR generalist work, ideally at a startup or growing company.
• Strong closer capable of getting offers accepted.
• Organized and discreet with confidential information.
• Familiarity with HR systems such as Justworks, Gusto, Rippling, or similar HRIS/PEO, plus ATS.
• Experience with contractors or international hires is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, end to end: write posts, source candidates, screen, coordinate interviews, close offers.
• Manage the hiring pipeline: keep candidates moving, track time-to-fill, ensure responsiveness.
• Grow contractor network and onboard contractors alongside full-time hires.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring productive first weeks and respectful departures.
• Own HR operations: Justworks, employee records, benefits enrollment, time off, policy questions.
• Ensure compliance across states and for international team members; coordinate with General Counsel as needed.
• Run logistics for annual reviews, raises, bonuses, and equity grants; keep pay data organized.
