Job summary

Stripe is seeking a People Consultant to join our Chicago-based team. You will support Stripe managers and their teams across the United States and Canada, providing coaching, policy guidance, and cross-functional collaboration to enable high-performing teams.

You will partner with managers on performance management, career development, employee relations, and change management, helping to create an inclusive, compliant, and positive employee experience at scale.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a client-facing HR role (e.g., HR Generalist, HR Business Partner).
• Direct Manager Support: advising and coaching managers at varying levels on performance management and employee relations.
• Legal Knowledge: working knowledge of US employment laws and practices, with legal counsel collaboration.
• Analytical Skills: diagnose problems using data and develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coach and advise managers on performance management, career development, and team dynamics.
• Act as an HR policy expert to support managers and employees.
• Ensure compliance with labor regulations in the US.
• Lead talent management initiatives and employee listening programs.
• Guide change management and communications during reorganizations.
• Analyze people data to identify gaps and opportunities to improve processes.
