About The Role
The role owns the systems and programs that keep people operations running: onboarding, HRIS data integrity, benefits administration, compliance, and the employee lifecycle from hire to exit. The work matters because the company is scaling quickly - this role turns people processes into reliable, repeatable systems so leadership can make decisions with accurate data and employees get a consistently great experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day HRIS administration (Rippling, BambooHR, or Workday), maintaining accurate employee records, org data, and workflows
- Run onboarding and offboarding end-to-end: background checks, I-9/E-Verify, equipment provisioning coordination, benefits enrollment, and orientation scheduling
- Administer benefits programs across multiple states, including open enrollment, qualifying life events, and vendor escalation
- Support performance review cycles and compensation planning in tools like Lattice, including timeline management and reporting
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and DC-specific employment requirements; audit records quarterly and flag gaps
- Build and report on people metrics - headcount, attrition, time-to-hire, engagement scores - using HRIS data and spreadsheets or BI tools
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and payroll escalations
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years in people operations, HR generalist, or HR coordinator roles, ideally at a growing tech company
- Hands-on experience administering an HRIS (Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, or similar) including workflow and report building
- Working knowledge of multi-state employment compliance, benefits administration, and payroll fundamentals
- Strong data skills: comfortable with pivot tables, formulas, and presenting clean metrics to leadership
- Excellent written communication and judgment when handling sensitive employee matters
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: experience with Lattice or similar performance tools, HR certifications (PHR/SHRM-CP), or supporting international expansion/EOR setups
