Breeze Bio, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Manager of People Operations to build and run the HR function end-to-end at our Brisbane, CA headquarters.

This execution-focused role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and entails hands-on payroll, onboarding, offboarding, and policy design to scale as the company grows. You will own HR systems, benefits, compensation, compliance, and employee relations, with a clear path to lead a People team.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on HR experience, including at least 2 years as the primary HR owner at a startup or small company.
• Biotech, life sciences, or tech experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll platforms; experience migrating an HRIS is a plus.
• Strong judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Own all day-to-day HR operations end-to-end, including records, onboarding, offboarding and policy design.
• Run full-cycle recruiting in collaboration with leadership and managers.
• Own bi-weekly payroll processing in Rippling with Finance and vendors.
• Maintain compliance with federal/state/local labor laws and prepare audit responses.
• Lead employee relations matters and coach managers through performance discussions.
• Design and administer benefits, compensation benchmarking, and annual reviews.
• Own Rippling as system of record and continuously improve HR processes.
• Partner with leadership to shape a positive, compliant workplace during growth.
