Job summary

Kaizen Labs in New York is looking for a dedicated People Operations Manager to take ownership of onboarding, payroll, and employee engagement initiatives. As the first dedicated hire in this function, you will build scalable processes that align with the company's growth.

The ideal candidate has over 4 years of experience in People Operations, fluency with HR tools, and a strong commitment to improving employee experiences across the organization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or related program management roles.
• Experience at scaling startups operating without a full HR team.
• Ownership mentality: you've run a people ops or back-office function yourself.

Responsibilities

• Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, including background checks and exit process.
• Run payroll operations accurately and on time.
• Manage the benefits program day-to-day, including open enrollment and employee questions.

Skills

Experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or related program management

Hands-on fluency with People Ops tools: Gusto, Rippling, Carta

Ownership mentality

Comfort operating across people, finance, and admin functions

Clear and direct communicator

Fluency with AI tools
