Job summary

TybaTyba is seeking a People Operations Manager to own our HR operations, payroll, benefits, onboarding, and office functions as we scale. You will design and implement learning and development initiatives and align people programs with business goals, serving as a strategic partner to leadership.

The role focuses on building processes from scratch, improving compliance, and enabling growth across the San Francisco Bay Area, with in-person presence at the Oakland office most weeks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR operations, ideally at high-growth startups.
• Proven track record of building new processes from scratch.
• Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, and employment compliance.
• Able to handle details personally while thinking strategically ahead.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to be in Oakland 3-4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Own HR operations, including payroll, benefits, compliance, and office management.
• Manage vendor relationships and respond to questions about payroll and benefits.
• Lead initial learning and development projects such as performance process design and onboarding curriculum.
• Support hiring logistics with managers and external recruiters, from scheduling to offers and background checks.
• Refresh and improve existing people processes to scale with the business.
