Job summary

Vast is looking for a People Operations Generalist to support the development of systems for human-rated space station projects, reporting to the Senior Manager, People Operations. This hands-on role covers employee support, onboarding, offboarding, HRIS maintenance, and daily People Operations tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and responsive, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of experience in People Operations or HR.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems; Rippling preferred.
• Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to follow established processes and escalate when needed.
• Willingness to travel to other California locations occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide first point of contact for routine employee questions and People Operations requests.
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation logistics, materials, scheduling, and communications.
• Prepare and administer Separation Agreements and related documentation.
• Process approved employee data changes in HRIS and maintain data accuracy.
• Maintain SOPs, checklists, templates, and trackers; support team meetings and projects.
