Job summary

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts is opening Viceroy Park Avenue in NYC, seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to guide day-to-day HR operations for a pre-opening team. You will partner with hotel leadership to establish people strategies, policies, and culture that deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, benefits administration, compliance, and payroll support.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of progressive HR experience in a hotel or related industry.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• College coursework in related field helpful.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Must communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.
• Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Administer insurance benefits, explain benefits, assist with enrollment forms.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating HR strategies in alignment with Corporate guidelines and initiatives
• Provide guidance to managers on resolving colleague issues; counsel as needed
• Apply knowledge of HR principles in daily operations
• Support recruitment and onboarding across properties
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and applicable laws
• Exercise sound judgment and manage priorities to meet deadlines
• Assist in developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs
• Build relationships while maintaining confidentiality
• Support employee relations and investigations as needed
• Contribute to engagement initiatives to improve colleague retention
• Administer compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management systems
• Assist with leave-of-absence processes (FMLA, ADA, parental leave, workers’ comp) and return-to-work coordination
• Coordinate offboarding processes including exits and benefit transitions
• Assist with wage surveys and payroll-related tasks
• Monitor leave and workers’ compensation claims
• Answer questions about 401K, vacations, and benefits
• Maintain room-night logs and processing of employee requests
• Prepare recruitment advertising and onboarding paperwork
• Attend meetings and training; participate in MOD coverage
• Maintain attendance and compliance with hotel standards
