Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Warehouse Manager for the Plainfield, IL distribution center to lead a safety-first, high-performance team and ensure accurate receiving, storage, and outbound loading. The role emphasizes coaching, inventory control, and cost-conscious operations in a dynamic warehouse environment.

On-site position with responsibilities across staffing, throughput, and safety compliance; minimum three years in warehouse distribution and OSHA/HACCP familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of warehouse distribution experience.
• At least one year overseeing a workforce.
• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead a safety-first culture to prevent injuries and ensure safe operations.
• Coach and develop warehouse associates; address performance gaps.
• Maintain open communication to ensure efficient workflow.
• Direct daily work and productivity; drive engagement and retention.
• Participate in hiring and staffing with senior managers.
• Ensure accurate orders are staged and loaded for shipping.
• Monitor performance metrics and correct behaviors as needed.
• Plan dock locations and stock in correct locations per FIFO.
• Maintain facility safety and equipment; coordinate repairs.
• Support cost control and inventory shrink reduction.
• Schedule shifts using planning tools like Excel.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
