Job summary

Border Foods is searching for an Assistant Manager to oversee restaurant operations and lead a team that delivers great food and a friendly guest experience in Illinois. You will uphold the CORE values and ensure safe, efficient service while coaching staff and managing schedules.

The role requires flexibility, a minimum of one year in food service, ServeSafe certification, and a willingness to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, and some holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year restaurant or retail experience.
• Experience with sales building and training.
• Proven track record of hiring and retention.
• Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• Non-exempt management position; usually 50 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the entire restaurant and lead a strong team.
• Reinforce Border Foods core values (Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, Empowerment).
• Ensure safe, friendly, high-quality food and guest experience.
• Manage scheduling, performance, and accountability for Team Members and Shift Leaders.
• Maintain POS system health and comply with cash handling and safety policies.
