Job summary

The State of Alaska’s Division of Retirement and Benefits is seeking a Retirement and Benefits Technician 2 to support the Pension Adjustment and Disability Unit in Juneau. The role involves processing deferred compensation requests, disability applications, and related actions from members returning to work after retirement.

Located on the eighth floor of the State Office Building, the workweek runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Retirement and Benefits Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
• Six months of entry-level technical experience that applied basic knowledge of a retirement program, benefits program, human resources policy, or labor relations guidelines, or in processing health, life, or disability insurance claims or payments, or processing budgetary or financial documents.
• Experience equivalencies to several Alaska state job classifications as listed in the minimum qualifications.
• One year of advanced clerical experience in an office environment supporting technical or professional staff.
