Job summary

Michiana Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Peer Support Specialist to work in Outpatient Services. This role provides support and education to patients and families, complementing clinical care and aiding the patient’s recovery journey.

Responsibilities include conducting home visits, facilitating readiness for change, modeling coping strategies, connecting patients to community resources, and helping establish personal recovery goals and care plans to support lasting recovery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Certified Peer Support Professional (CPSP) or CAPRC I is required.
  • CAPRC II certification is preferred/required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with patients in their homes to conduct sessions and collect drug screen samples.
  • Facilitate patient readiness for change.
  • Model coping techniques and self-help strategies.
  • Assist patients in linking to community supports and treatment services.
  • Assist patients in setting personal recovery goals and developing recovery care plans.

Peer Support Specialist - Full-time

Michiana Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Peer Support Specialist to work in Outpatient Services. This position is responsible for providing support and education to patients and family members that serve as an adjunct to direct clinical services and enhance patient's personal pathway to recovery.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Reponsible to meet with patients in their homes to complete sessions and collect drug screen samples
  • Facilitates patient's readiness for change
  • Models coping techniques and self-help strategies
  • Assists patients in linking to community support and treatment services
  • Assists patients is setting personal recovery goals and developing recovery care plans.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Certified Peer Support Professional (CPSP) or Certified Addiction Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC I and CAPRC II) required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Have a personal lived experience of recovery from a mental health condition, substance use or problem gambling and/or assisted a family member with the same.
