Job summary

Michiana Behavioral Health seeks a full-time Community-Based Response Peer Support Specialist for our Intensive Outpatient Program. The role focuses on engaging individuals in the community with a trauma-informed approach to reduce stigma and support readiness to change.

COMMUNITY-BASED RESPONSE PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Full-Time

Michiana Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time community-focused Peer Support Specialist for our Intensive Outpatient Program. A Peer Support Specialist will work to build readiness to change and engage individuals in the surrounding community in a way that respects the person in their environment and serves to reduce stigma.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Engage with individuals requesting support through Connect Marshall County app in a trauma-informed manner that allows for rapport building
  • Connect individuals with Navigators as needed to obtain insurance
  • Connect with community partners to verify available resources and update the app with current information
  • Participate in trainings to continue to gain new skills
  • Attend meetings as required
