Job summary

Affordable Rent in Colorado seeks a Peer Specialist who uses lived experience to support clients, families, and integrated teams. You will assist clients in overcoming obstacles with strength-based advocacy, empowerment, and recovery-focused strategies.

The role requires a Colorado Peer and Family Specialist certification and BLS, with bilingual English-Spanish or ASL preferred. You will coordinate services, transport clients when needed, and document care in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado Peer and Family Specialist certification through COPA is required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
• Must have and maintain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire (with exceptions).

Responsibilities

• Provides mentorship and support to clients through lived experience to build skills in goal setting and problem solving.
• Facilitates counseling and activities for clients in recovery from substance use disorders in individual or group settings.
• Helps clients coordinate and navigate healthcare, housing, and behavioral health services with internal teams and partners.
• Transports and escorts clients to appointments; access to reliable vehicles outside the fleet.
• Collaborates with Coalition staff to ensure timely, recovery-oriented services.
• Performs ongoing client outreach to monitor needs and align with goals.
• Records all services and communications in the EHR and other systems accurately.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
