Job summary

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Peer Specialist who draws on lived experience to support clients, families, and their teams. You will focus on strengths, empowerment, and advocacy to help clients overcome barriers and achieve goals.

You will collaborate with internal teams, coordinate services across health, housing, and behavioral health, and contribute to trauma-informed care in a fast-paced, community-focused program.

Qualifications

• Must‑have Colorado Peer and Family Specialist certification (COPA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Must have and maintain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Bi‑lingual English‑Spanish and/or ASL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides mentorship and support to clients through personal lived experience to build skills in goal setting and problem solving.
• Facilitates counseling and activities for clients in recovery from substance use disorders.
• Helps clients coordinate and navigate integrated services including healthcare, housing, and behavioral health with internal teams and partners.
• Transports and/or escorts clients to scheduled appointments; access to reliable vehicle may be required.
• Collaborates with Coalition staff to foster trusting relationships and ensure services are timely and aligned with goals.
• Outreach to monitor recovery-oriented needs in the community.
• Recordkeeping in the EHR and other systems with up-to-date charts and documentation.
