Job summary

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Peer Specialist who draws on personal recovery experiences to support clients and families. You will collaborate with integrated teams, focusing on strengths, empowerment, and advocacy to help clients overcome barriers.

Responsibilities include mentorship, counseling in recovery, coordinating services, and maintaining up-to-date documentation in the EHR. A Colorado Driver’s license and peer training are highly preferred.

Qualifications

Candidates must have completed an accredited Peer Specialist training program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
Must have and maintain Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Provides mentorship and support to clients through lived experience to build skills in goal setting and problem solving with emphasis on strengths and empowerment.
Facilitates counseling and activities for clients in recovery from substance use disorders in individual or group settings.
Helps clients coordinate and navigate critical integrated services including healthcare, housing assistance, and behavioral health with internal teams and outside partners.
