Job summary

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless in Denver seeks a Peer Specialist who draws on lived experience to support clients, families, and their teams. You will help clients overcome obstacles, focus on strengths, empowerment, and advocacy.

This role requires assisting with housing, healthcare, and behavioral health services, transporting clients to appointments, and recording services in the EHR. Strong communication and trauma-informed care are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Peer Specialist training program highly preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred
• Must have and maintain in good standing, a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support clients using lived experience to build skills.
• Facilitate counseling and activities for clients in recovery.
• Help clients coordinate services including healthcare and housing.
• Transport and escort clients to appointments.
• Collaborate with Coalition staff to build trust and align with goals.
• Outreach to monitor recovery-oriented needs.
• Record all clinical/non-clinical services accurately in the EHR.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
