Job summary

Turning Point Community Programs in Modesto, CA is seeking a peer specialist to assist members in meeting their expressed goals toward crisis resolution and maintaining wellness in the community. The role is at-will direct service and emphasizes lived experience perspectives to support client participants.

Under supervision by the team lead or program director, you will provide active listening, advocacy, and connection to local county/state resources.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Varied life experience related to mental health is valuable.
• Must have a California driver's license and current vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Supports recovery and uses recovery tools with clients.
• Models responsibility, self-advocacy and hope.
• Assesses client hopes, strengths and challenges to meet goals.
• Helps develop each client's recovery plan.
• Provides on-the-spot support aligned with program philosophy.
• Keeps monthly guest logs and guests' records.
• Completes health and housekeeping logs as required.
• Upholds health and safety practices with guests.
• Supports empowerment and mutual learning with clients.
• Attends team meetings as scheduled; completes paperwork.
• Fosters reciprocal relationships and natural supports.
• Attends at least one co-reflection group per month.
• Adheres to Turning Point Community Programs policies.
