Turning Point of Central California, Inc. seeks a Peer Support Specialist to advocate for clients, provide information and peer support in office outpatient settings, and assist clients in regaining control of their recovery process.

The role includes assisting staff, maintaining confidentiality, facilitating self-help groups, greeting clients, and coordinating transportation as needed to support program operations. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current certified training in emergency first aid procedures.
• Experience as a client services recipient or lived experience with mental health preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to establish trusting relationships with peers.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with diverse groups and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with needs of program staff and clients to provide quality services.
• Greet clients, explain program rules and procedures, and attend weekly meetings.
• Answer phones, perform filing and general office tasks.
• Supervise and monitor clients in the program and facilitate life skills groups.
• Plan socialization groups and events for clients.
• Coordinate communication with agencies involved in rehabilitation.
• Provide timely incident reports for health and safety.
• Drive on agency business for client transportation and program errands.
