Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a peer specialist to assist members in meeting their goals toward crisis resolution and wellness in the community. The role emphasizes recovery principles, mutual support, and empowerment, leveraging lived experience to provide hope and guidance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a California driver’s license, with available transportation. You will work Tue-Fri, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, at our Rancho Cordova location, supporting

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health and recovery
• Active listening and messages of hope and recovery
• Ability to work with clients to support goals and recovery plans

Responsibilities

• Supports recovery principles and use of recovery tools
• Models personal responsibility and self-advocacy
• Assists clients in identifying hopes, strengths and challenges
• Supports development of each client's recovery plan
• Provides on-the-spot support aligned with program philosophy
• Maintains guest logs and records according to policy
• Completes health and housekeeping logs and follows safety procedures
• Engages in empowerment and mutual learning with clients
• Attends scheduled team meetings and completes paperwork
• Fosters reciprocal relationships and natural support networks
• Participates in monthly co-reflection groups
• Upholds Turning Point Community Programs policies and procedures
