Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. seeks a Peer Support Specialist to advocate for clients and provide peer support in office outpatient settings. You will inform clients and assist them in regaining control of their recovery process, working with staff to deliver quality services.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, group facilitation, and collaboration with treatment teams to support SMI clients and their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with experience in client services preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech, with peers and staff.
• Knowledge of confidential information handling and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients and provide peer support in outpatient settings.
• Assist with coordinating self-help groups and client transportation as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow agency policies and procedures.
• Greet clients, explain program rules, and participate in meetings.
• Document incidents and communicate with partner agencies as required.
