Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz in Aurora seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist to support adults with substance use disorder across ED and outpatient settings. You will leverage lived experience to engage, educate, and connect patients to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up sessions, while collaborating with ARTS and STRIDE teams.

The role involves outreach, data tracking, and facilitation of peer-led groups, with location mobility across clinics and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required at hire.
• Experience connecting individuals in SUD treatment to resources.
• Preferred: CPFS/Peer Recovery Specialist certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assessment and treatment for adults with SUD at entry into care.
• Facilitate transitions between ED, ARTS Potomac Street Center, and STRIDE.
• Leverage lived experience to support patients in entering treatment.
• Coordinate communications among ED, ARTS Potomac Street Center and STRIDE.
• Be responsive to individual patient needs and follow up with participants.
• Track project data and peer contacts with project staff.
• Facilitate peer-led groups to support recovery.
• Track referrals and outreach to engage patients in treatment.
