Job summary

The ARTS Adult Outpatient Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking three full-time University Staff Peer Recovery Specialists for the Mobile Medication Unit and on-site clinics in Denver, Aurora, and Arvada.

You will provide peer-led interventions, case management, and care coordination for adults with substance use disorders, with emphasis on pregnant/postpartum patients, and will work Monday–Friday 6:00am–2:30pm; some evenings/weekends possible.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience working closely with patients and connecting them to resources.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or another related field.
  • Certification as CPFS, Peer Recovery Specialist, or Peer Recovery Coach.
  • Experience with motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Experience working with clients involved with the criminal justice system, probation/parole, human services, or other referral sources.
  • Experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Peer Specialist and educator to implement interventions to improve outcomes for patients who enter care via the ARTS Medication Mobile Unit and/or ARTS Clinics.
  • Identify problems, challenges, or obstacles in coordination of services for patients and ensure duties are performed for benefit of patients.
  • Conduct structured, Peer-led interventions focusing on health education, care coordination, and reducing barriers to care.
  • Conduct case management for patients, provide referrals, implement standardized intervention, track engagement, and connect patients to prenatal treatment and care.
  • Collaborate with supervisor and staff; attend trainings and meetings; be willing to drive to meetings and CU Emergency Department for care coordination; ensure confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes; use electronic health records to document communications, interventions, and schedule appointments.
  • Work with patients with SUD referred from parole/probation, human services, and other agencies; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform outreach and establish community/referral partnerships to serve ARTS’ patient population.
