Job summary

Coalition for Community Housing (CCH) is seeking a Peer Specialist to support clients through lived experience, focusing on empowerment and advocacy. You will work with clients and families to overcome barriers, coordinate with internal teams, and document care in the EHR.

Travel across Denver metro is required to provide community-based support. The role emphasizes recovery, confidentiality, and trauma-informed engagement with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
• Completion of accredited Peer Specialist training program highly preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Must hold and maintain Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides mentorship and support to clients through personal lived experience to build skills in goal setting and problem solving with emphasis on strengths, resilience, and empowerment.
• Facilitates counseling and activities for clients in recovery to promote connection and agency.
• Helps clients coordinate healthcare, housing assistance, and behavioral health with internal teams and partners.
• Transports or escorts clients to appointments using a CCH vehicle or approved personal vehicle; access to reliable vehicle required.
• Collaborates with Coalition staff to foster trusting relationships and ensure timely services aligned with individual goals.
• Responsible for ongoing client outreach within the community to monitor recovery-oriented needs.
• Ensures timely recording of all clinical and non-clinical services in EHR and other systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
