Job summary

Noble Hearts HR Consulting Inc. is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) in Kinston, NC. This full-time, in-person role provides recovery-focused support to adults with mental health and/or substance use challenges and works with a treatment team.

You will mentor, model resiliency, and help members develop coping skills, independence, and community connections while maintaining documentation and collaborating with professionals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• NC Certified Peer Support Specialist certification required.
• 1–2 years of experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges.
• Minimum of 2 consecutive years of personal recovery.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 12 Core Functions.
• Ability to document clearly per regulations and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality peer support services per organizational standards and licensing requirements.
• Provide individual and group peer support to aid treatment participation and goals.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of services.
• Connect members with community resources and referrals.
• Encourage recovery, coping skills, and healthy living.
• Provide crisis intervention using approved techniques.
• Facilitate groups and community integration activities.
• Educate members on mental health, relapse prevention, and recovery strategies.
• Help members develop independent living skills.
• Support healthy social and interpersonal skills.
• Transport members to groups and outings as needed.
• Facilitate educational groups and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain legal and ethical boundaries; collaborate with peers and professionals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
